About Me
Originally from Israel, I moved to Lisbon on April 24 with my family. I have a partner and 2 daughters here, and we all struggle learning Portuguese. In my homeland I established my private practice and some of my beloved clients are still seeing me online. Here I started meeting clients in-person as part of an overall shift to my new home. Immigrating is one of the most difficult things I ever did, leaving all my friends and family in Israel, Especially in these dread circumstancesIn Israel I studied my BA and MA, did my internship and my expertise. When I was finally an expert, I established a therapist cooperative in Tel Aviv with colleges. We formed a low-budget community clinic, which helped us all evolve professionally. Over the years we accepted interns there and I got to experience the wonderful role of a group-supervisor. I still hold a main role there, supervising online a few interns. I worked with clients from various backgrounds, and have experience with people with various psychiatric diagnoses. I always study, from patients, colleges and books. Moving here teaches me a lot, and that’s maybe the best aspect of this immigration.

Approach
Being generally a warm and open person, I tend to form a positive connection (working alliance) with my clients easily. I use humor and self-disclose when it’s appropriate. I believe in setting distinct boundaries (setting), and nevertheless consider myself a generous and flexible therapist. I’m curious, willing to discuss any subject, and think together of real-life, down-to-earth solutions.
Something
Professional Education
My professional education was mostly psychodynamic, and over the years I found it most effective to work with transference. Transference relates to the special relationship between the patient and the therapist. This relationship can be very emotional and intimate, but is still professional and has distinct boundaries. An experienced psychologist can use the various feelings that such intimate bond reacts, for the benefit of the patient. This isn’t a simple task, and it takes trust, which takes time. It’s a powerful tool that can make that long awaited change.

Couple Therapy
In couple therapy I use various methods like Imago and EFT. Since my main focus is psychodynamic, I use this understanding to find the “collision” between the couple. This is the point where each side’s upbringing and attachment-style collides, usually leaving both sides hurt. The best way to help here, is to investigate and show them what they bring to the relationship, and how it unconsciously collides. It is another way of seeing transference.
